Building your sustainable workforce

Our Workplace Age Diversity Index is a UK market benchmark specialising in age equity in the workplace - helping all of your employees realise their full potential.

Why does age diversity matter ?

Three stats: Age is the No.1 most common form of discrimination in the UK. 71% of UK workers say age discrimination is common in their workplace. Employers struggling to engage their generations see 18-43% higher turnover rates.

Age is a protected characteristic - and as such should never be a barrier to career development and success.

And yet ageism continues to be the most common form of discrimination in the workplace. We want to change that by helping you understand how to support each of the generations that make up your workforce.

We’re starting by introducing our UK age diversity benchmark for employers. The Workplace Age Diversity Index is designed to help you develop a workplace where all of your people can realise their full potential.

To do this, we think of our working population across 4 generations…

Are you an employer that has truly managed to unlock the potential of the multigenerational workforce?

The career lifecycle is shifting and evolving, with changing paradigms as people live longer and retire later. New generations are coming of age and embarking on their careers while those already in the workplace are progressing or retraining as their wants and needs evolve. Retirement itself is even looking more flexible that it ever has before!

We are all at differing stages of different journeys, but all of our generations working together towards a common goal can result in better decision making, more productive collaboration, and improved overall performance⁵.

To achieve age diversity in the workplace, employers need to design a workplace that attracts and retains people of all ages and fosters a collaborative learning environment.

At All Generations Engaged we want to help you unlock this potential within your organisation...

What is the Workplace Age Diversity Index?

We’ve worked with a number of charities and organisations to develop our Workplace Age Diversity Index, an annual market benchmarking exercise to measure the age-friendliness of UK companies relative to their peers.
